Preparing for Christmas

It’s starting to feel like Christmastime. We brought our tree in last weekend. We cut a young pine from our woods, like last year. It’s not as bushy as the groomed firs, but it looks nice and smells fresh.

O Christmas pine, O Christmas pine...

O Christmas pine, O Christmas pine…

I made picture books for the niblings, as I have done for a few years now. This years titles are “Dino-Friends Build a House,” “Dino-Friends and the Volcano,” and “Adventure Cat and the Horse Princess.” I hope they enjoy them.

Pretty soon I’ll start baking pulla and pies.

We haven’t had any early snow this year. Most years we get at least a dusting in late November or early December, even if it doesn’t last, but nothing so far this year. It would be nice to have snow for Christmas, but I could definitely do without the steady dumping we got last winter.
